General information

United Montessori Children School is a bilingual (French and English) institution committed to creating an environment that encourages children's natural development. We base our approach on Maria Montessori's pedagogy, for children aged 3 to 9.

Class 3-6 (ages 3-6)

What is the minimum age required for enrolment in the 3-6 years class?

The child must be 2 years and 8 months old.

Are there limits to admission?

Admissions are accepted on a space-available basis.

How can you visit us?

You can book your visit in just a few clicks from our website. We encourage your child to be present for the first visit.

What timetable should be applied to a 4-year-old child?

From the age of 4, children must attend school full-time (8:10 to 16:00). Learning to read and write is very important at this age.

Is there a trial period for a child discovering the Montessori pedagogy?

Yes, we plan one or two half-days, to ensure that the environment matches your child's needs.

Class 6-9 (ages 6-9)

At what age is a child eligible to enroll in the 6-9 class?

A child who will be 6 years old by August 30 of the current year is eligible to enroll in class 6-9. However, exceptions may be considered depending on the child's maturity and the input of our teaching team.

Do 3-6 year-olds have priority over 6-9 year-olds?

Yes, children in the 3-6 age group have priority admission to the 6-9 age group.

Is there a trial period for non-Montessori children wishing to enroll?

Yes, we schedule two to four days of observation for children new to Montessori.

What are the class times for grades 6-9?

Children attend school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8.10am to 4.00pm and on Wednesdays from 8.10am to 12.00pm. Childcare is available from 4pm to 6pm.

What time should children arrive at school?

Children are welcomed between 8:10 and 8:30 at the latest.

At what times can part-time children be picked up for the 3 to 6 age group?

Parents of part-time students in classes 3 to 6 are required to pick up their children at 1:00 pm.

What time does the Full-Time program end?

All children leave school at 4:00 p.m., except for those who remain in childcare.

What happens after 4pm?

Children remaining after 4:00 pm will be the responsibility of our daycare service, with the associated fees (18 CHF/daycare). Strict adherence to these schedules is essential to maintain a conducive learning environment.

What happens in the event of a change in care arrangements?

We will not entrust your child to anyone else without your written or verbal permission. In the event of last-minute changes, please contact the school to inform us as soon as possible.
